What It Is
Every Denture Problem Has a Solution. Let's Find Yours.
Dentures change over time — and so does the jaw they sit on. Bone resorption gradually changes the shape of your ridge, causing once-fitting dentures to loosen, slip, and cause sore spots. Most patients don't realize there are multiple levels of improvement available, from a simple reline to a full upgrade to implant support.
At Foundation Dental Center, we start with an honest evaluation. We'll tell you what's causing your problem and present all your options — from a chairside reline to a brand-new premium denture or a conversion to implant-secured stability — with transparent pricing for each path.
- Denture reline: re-fits your existing denture to your current ridge
- Denture replacement: new full denture with current impressions
- Upgrade to implant-retained: convert to snap-in support
- Upgrade to full fixed arch: convert to non-removable All-on-X
- Repair: fractured or chipped denture restoration
Is This Right for You?
Signs You're Ready for a Denture Upgrade
Most patients tolerate denture problems far longer than they should. If any of the following describe you, it's time for an evaluation.
- Your denture moves or rocks when you chew or speak
- You're using adhesive every day just to keep it in place
- You have persistent sore spots or irritation under your denture
- Your denture is 5+ years old and was never relined
- The teeth look worn down or your bite feels off
- You avoid eating in public because of denture instability
- You're embarrassed about your denture slipping when you talk or laugh
- You've been relining the same denture repeatedly with diminishing results
- You're ready to invest in a permanent improvement to your quality of life
The Process
How We Evaluate and Upgrade Your Denture
Bring the denture you're currently wearing to your appointment. Dr. Pasicznyk evaluates the fit, the material condition, the bite, and the underlying tissue and bone.
We present every option available — reline, replacement, or upgrade to implant support — with the clinical rationale and honest pricing for each. No pressure, no upselling.
Simple relines and repairs can often be completed the same day or in one follow-up visit. New dentures take 4–6 weeks. Implant upgrades follow the implant placement timeline with planning done upfront.
Whether you reline or upgrade, we schedule follow-up visits to confirm your result and make adjustments. You'll leave with a clear maintenance plan and a direct line to our team.
From a simple chairside reline to a full-arch fixed implant conversion — Dr. Pasicznyk handles every level of denture solution in-house. You don't need referrals, multiple providers, or different offices for different steps.
We'll tell you honestly whether a reline is sufficient or if a replacement or upgrade would serve you better — and why. The right recommendation for your situation, not the most profitable one.
Whatever we do today, we design it with your long-term goals in mind. If there's a chance you'll want implants in 12 months, we plan around that — so you don't invest in something that gets thrown away.
Common Questions
Denture Upgrade FAQs
A reline reshapes the fitting surface of your existing denture to match the current contours of your bone ridge. As your ridge shrinks over time, the denture no longer contacts the tissue evenly — causing looseness and sore spots. A reline brings the fit back. There are chairside (same-day) and laboratory relines, with lab relines offering a more precise and longer-lasting result.
A reline works well if your denture's teeth are in good condition, the bite is acceptable, and the base structure is sound — just the fit has changed. If the teeth are severely worn, the base is fractured, or the bite is significantly off, a new denture is the better investment. Dr. Pasicznyk will give you an honest assessment at your evaluation.
Often, yes. If your existing denture is in good condition and fits reasonably well, it can be retrofitted with locator housings so it snaps onto implants — avoiding the cost of fabricating a new denture. Dr. Pasicznyk will evaluate whether your current denture qualifies or if a new one would work better as the snap-in prosthetic.
A chairside reline takes about an hour and you leave with your denture the same day. A laboratory reline requires leaving the denture for 24–48 hours while the lab processes a more durable, precise fit. We provide a temporary while yours is being done.
